Set up an
authenticator app.
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a second check when you sign in. Follow these steps when the riskfacilitator QR code is on your screen.
Have your phone ready
Open or install an authenticator app, such as Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, 1Password, or another app that supports time-based one-time passwords.
Connect your account
- Open your authenticator app. Select + or Add account, then choose Other account or Scan QR code.
- Scan the QR code. Use the scanner inside the authenticator app—not your phone’s ordinary camera.
- Or enter the setup key. If you cannot scan the QR code, choose the app’s manual entry option and type the setup key shown by riskfacilitator. Select Time based if asked.
- Enter the six-digit code. Return to riskfacilitator, enter the current code from the app, and select Enable MFA.
- Save your recovery codes. Store the one-time recovery codes in a password manager or another secure place. Do not keep your only copy on the same phone.
If a code does not work
- Codes change about every 30 seconds. Wait for a new code and enter it promptly.
- Make sure your phone’s date and time are set automatically.
- If the setup screen has expired, return to sign in and start again.
